I have been slowly working away sanding and painting the shutters which we took down and had stripped almost a year ago today. They are grey on the inside so they match the fireplace when closed, and white on the outside so when folded into the pocket it looks like a wall panel. We took a break from the kitchen and installed the first set this weekend. I still have two other pairs to sand and paint(the bedroom and the kitchen), but it was satisfying to get these up at last. They also help keep the draught out.
