When the world gives you lemons...

Make lemonade... or alternatively you can:

1. Cut them in half and use each side as a scrubbing sponge to clean discoloured ceramic sinks. (Just tried it - it really works!)
2. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into 2 cups of water and pour into your kettle. Boil the solution and then let it cool entirely before emptying to descale your kettle. (Worked fairly well, but probably needs a second round!)

DIY free weekend

The weather was too nice for staying indoors this weekend so I didnt make any further progress on the kitchen floor. I managed to get one further coat on last week, but still have one more to go... along with touch ups to the skirting and to sort out the gaps at the perimeter. Instead I enjoyed a delicious sunday afternoon roast and concentrated on icecream consumption in the sunshine with friends and their kids.
