Dreaming of Summer
We had a small taste of summer like weather, before temperatures plunged back down to 5C today. I guess until summer arrives, I'll just have to be content with dreaming about it, and breeze filled summer homes by the lake like this one.

Arent thest pressed glass bead pendant lights fabulous? They're by Tom Dixon and would look great in a little cluster, above a long bar, or hanging above a bedside table.

Mini Glo Ball
As part of the bathroom works, I got my builder to re-connect the two double sockets behind the sofa in the living room. They had been hiding under the floorboards for about 3 years when they were moved there during the skirting repairs. I've been thinking about a little floor light to add some glow to the corner of the room and came accross these Mini Glo Balls from flos which would be cute.

Magnolia Trees
It is a beautiful spring day (at last!) and the magnolia tree a few doors down is in bloom, so I thought I'd share some spring sunshine....

Magnetic Paint
Now that my bathroom refurbishment is complete, I am of course thinking about my next project. Although re-painting my floors and windows is on the list, its not particularly exciting... so Ive been thinking about addressing the blank wall in my kitchen opposite my units and thinking that it would be great if I could have some sort of pin up board spanning the full length of my countertop. (See old blog posts from my kitchen)
We recently had a custom sized magnetic white board installed in our office conference room which looks brilliant, so I am considering having one made... but while looking I discovered Magnetic Paint online. (The one I saw was by Weitzner) It doesnt need to be black as you can paint over it... what a fun idea... My only concern is if I am regularly changing what I pin up, it might mark the surface over time. Hmmmmm.....

Bathroom Refurbishment Complete
The tall cabinet to the left of the door acts as a huge medicine cabinet, holding toiletries, make up, and all the cleaning products which dont quite fit beneath my kitchen sink, while the shelf provides plenty more storage space for towels, and pretty things.
The shower curtain glides with ease with these stainless steel shower curtain hooks with ball bearings.

A new way to eat Spinach
I've got into a smoothie kick recently, and came up with this tasty, super healthy combination packed with anti-oxidants. For two glasses:
- 1 banana
- 2 good handfuls of spinach, lightly steamed in a very small amount of water (which you throw into the mix so as not to loose any of the goodness!)
- 2 small handfulls of blueberries
- Squeeze of lime
- Dollop of creme fraish
- Honey to taste
- Soy milk or milk
Enjoy!

First shower in 200 years!
Being a Georgian property, there would not have been any indoor plumbing originally, or indeed a shower.... so this shower is the first these walls have seen in 200 years!
Everything is up and running and on the weekend I had my first shower in my new bathroom! Just waiting for the final snags to be addressed....

Beautiful Bookshelves
Just thought I'd post some images of non-bathroom related interiors. I love these clever integrated bookshelves. They really add great texture and interest to a room, and are perfect for small spaces by maximising storage opportunities right up to the ceiling.

Not quite finished
It isnt quite time for the big reveal yet, but my builder should be finishing up this weekend and then I will pull back the curtain and let you all see the before and after photos.
In the mean time... enjoy this pretty tub and shower curtain.

Bathroom Ceiling Light Bargain
After all my online research into various IP44 rated light fittings, in the end I decided to go for a simple frosted globe for the bathroom. Despite its bargain price of £10.99, this light from Homebase feels high quality, provides plenty of light, and has the added bonus of looking like a little moon.

Cool Interior Courtyard
If I had a really deep plan, to bring light into the centre, Id make one of these glass lined courtyard enclosures in the middle. Brilliant.
Nesting Tables
In keeping with the Easter theme, I thought I'd make a post about nests, or, more specifically, nesting tables. These make so much sense in a small flat as they can be stored neatly and compactly out of the way, and then slide out if extra side tables are needed during a party. These are definitely on my 'want' list.
These 1950's designed Ercol Nesting Tables designed by Lucian Ercolani are lovely. They released a 90th anniversary edition in candy coloured shades, but I'd just go with the classic natural finish.
For a sharper look, these Joseph Albers Nesting Tables are also super nice - Habitat also do a similar version for a fraction of the price.
